A Trieste si sono esibiti nel 2018 in una memorabile serata estiva su un palco allestito nei pressi della Centrale Idrodinamica nel Porto Vecchio. Al Teatro Miela saliranno sul palco come power trio e presenteranno la loro ultima creazione, “Drum to Death”, composto da 11 brani registrati con la collaborazione di altrettanti batteristi, tra cui Bernard Trontin (The Young Gods) e Cosmic Neman (Zombie Zombie).

Il nome Peter Kernel nasconde le identità di Aris Bassetti e Barbara Lehnhoff, conosciuta anche come Camilla Sparksss, un duo svizzero-canadese con sede nel cantone italiano. Dal 2005 hanno accumulato oltre 800 concerti, esibendosi su prestigiosi palchi come il Montreux Jazz Festival, la Settimana della Moda a Milano, il Paleo Festival, l’HMV Forum a Londra e The Great Escape nel Regno Unito.

La loro musica è caratterizzata da un sound eclettico che la critica ha definito post-pop-art-punk senza fronzoli. Hanno pubblicato cinque album in studio, iniziando con “How To Perform A Funeral” nel 2008, seguito dall’EP “The Ticket” l’anno successivo e “White Death & Black Heart”, in collaborazione con l’etichetta francese Africantape, nel 2011.

La loro consacrazione è avvenuta nel 2015 con “Thrill Addict”, presentato in un leggendario show sold out a Parigi e acclamato da pubblico e critica. Nel 2016 sono stati nominati tra i musicisti più importanti della Svizzera per il Gran Premio della Musica Svizzera. L’anno successivo hanno riarrangiato le loro migliori canzoni per viola, arpa, pianoforte, violoncello, armonio e percussioni, avviando il progetto speciale “Peter Kernel & Their Wicked Orchestra”.

The name Peter Kernel conceals the identities of Aris Bassetti and Barbara Lehnhoff, also known as Camilla Sparksss, a Swiss-Canadian duo based in the Italian canton. Since 2005, they have accumulated over 800 concerts, performing on prestigious stages such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Milan Fashion Week, Paleo Festival, HMV Forum in London, and The Great Escape in the UK.

Their music is characterized by an eclectic sound that critics have described as post-pop-art-punk without frills. They have released five studio albums, starting with “How To Perform A Funeral” in 2008, followed by the EP “The Ticket” the following year, and “White Death & Black Heart,” in collaboration with the French label Africantape, in 2011.

Their consecration came in 2015 with “Thrill Addict,” presented in a legendary sold-out show in Paris and acclaimed by both audiences and critics. In 2016, they were nominated among Switzerland’s most important musicians for the Swiss Music Awards. The following year, they rearranged their best songs for viola, harp, piano, cello, harmonium, and percussion, initiating the special project “Peter Kernel & Their Wicked Orchestra.”
